Twice The Spice

Looking for bold flavours, sizzling dishes, and a spot that brings the heat late into the night? Welcome to Twice The Spice, tucked right into the heart of Dudley at 97-98 High Street. This isn't your run-of-the-mill curry house-it’s a vibrant, full-on flavour experience that delivers big on taste, comfort, and variety. Whether you're here solo or rolling in with a hungry crew, this place gets straight to business with a menu that’s all about spice, satisfaction, and soulful cooking.

Step inside and you’re met with a space that’s both relaxed and welcoming. It’s got all the right touches-from wheelchair-accessible entrances and seating to a vibe that says, “come as you are, eat like royalty.” Locals know it as the go-to spot for dinner, especially when the craving for a proper Balti hits. And when that late-night hunger kicks in? Twice The Spice keeps the kitchen rolling, serving up hot, satisfying plates long after other places call it a night.

The menu is where things really get exciting. You’ve got classics like Chicken Tikka Masala Naan that hits with smoky charred edges and creamy, rich flavour. Their Butter Chicken is a smooth, comforting hug of spice and creaminess, while the Special Balti Asian Style brings an unmistakable kick with every bite. If you’re the type who leans toward heat, the Vindaloo here isn’t shy-it’s fiery, fragrant, and balanced just right with fluffy Pilau Rice and a side of Garlic Coriander Naan that’s crisped to perfection.

But it doesn’t stop at curry. The Garlic Chicken Tikka Karahi is a standout, sizzling with intense garlic notes and chunky onions swimming in a tomato-based sauce that clings to every piece. Their Sheesh Kebabs come hot off the grill, juicy, spiced, and perfect for tearing into. Even the vegetarian dishes-like the Vegetable Balti-don’t pull any punches. Full-bodied, hearty, and absolutely satisfying, they’ll have even meat-lovers reconsidering their choices.

And yes, they do more than just Indian cuisine. You’ll find a surprising twist on the menu with Pizzas and Kebab Rolls making an appearance-ideal if you’ve got a mixed group or you just want a cheesy, spicy detour. Want something simple yet indulgent? The Chutney Tray and Poppadoms set the tone right for the meal ahead-crunchy, tangy, and an irresistible prelude to the feast.

Service-wise, you’re in for a laid-back but efficient experience. Whether you’re ordering in, grabbing takeaway, or dining in for the full meal, the team keeps it friendly and fast. For those planning events or family gatherings, the restaurant also offers catering services-so you can bring Twice The Spice to your next celebration.

Vegetarian diners and quick biters won’t be left out either. The menu has plenty of vegetarian options, and if you're just after something light or fast, this spot doubles as a place for a quick bite or an unhurried dinner-it’s all about your pace. And yes, they serve coffee too, just in case you need a warm wind-down after all that spice.

Accessibility is clearly part of their core offering-entrances, seating, and toilets are all wheelchair-friendly. It’s one of those subtle but essential things that shows they’re thinking beyond just the food.

What keeps Twice The Spice a staple in Dudley is its consistency: bold, generous portions, packed with flavour, served in a spot that feels familiar and welcoming. Whether you’re here for the Chicken Balti on a Thursday night or popping in for King Prawns after a night out, you’re guaranteed something satisfying, served hot and spiced just right.

Always a favourite local Indian takeaway. Consistently on time with delivery, always polite and food piping hot both times I've recently ordered. Tropical Chicken was delicious! Highly recommend and will use again.

Bit cold on a Tuesday but as it's empty and gas is expensive, I'm not surprised. Take out was great though, free poppadoms and dip too. Balti and garlic nan for £9 and the best I've had in a while anywhere. Good service too with clean toilets. AAA+++
